Clarke earned his undergraduate from Texas A&M and his master’s degree from the University of North Texas. He then worked in international hotel management at some of the finest hotels around the world; was Manager of International Customer Relations for Motorola in Austin for ten years (and a member of the former Motorola Employees CU Board); Director of International Protocol for the Governor of Texas; and the Director of the Texas State Veterans Homes with a huge financial responsibility. 

Earlier in his career, Clarke completed the Marine Officer Training Program at Quantico, served six years in the Marine Corps Reserve, and later served 14 years in the Texas State Guard Reserve, retiring as a Colonel and Deputy Chief-of-Staff, Intelligence in 2002. He also served for eight years on an FBI Counterterrorism Task Force.

Clarke has been a world adventurer; a motivational speaker, holding a “DTM,” the highest award in Toastmasters International; and is the author of Romancing the Impossible.
