Five Star Rated - BauerFinancial

Since 1983, BauerFinancial has reported and analyzed credit union and bank performance, and assigned “star ratings” based on the results. Financial institutions receiving a star rating (one to five) from BauerFinancial, an independent company, do not pay to receive a rating nor can they prevent their star rating from being posted each year.

How the BauerFinancial Rating is Determined

In addition to a financial institution’s capital ratio, other factors are used to determine its star rating. Examples of rating criteria include the following:

  • Charge-offs and repossessed assets
  • Community reinvestment rating
  • Evaluating the level of delinquent loans
  • Historical data
  • Investment portfolio value (market versus book)
  • Liquidity
  • Profitability/loss trending
  • Regulatory supervisory agreements

If it sounds technical and important, it is. That’s why TruWest is so proud of our five-star “superior” rating. Since March 2012, we have been ranked among the top financial institutions by BauerFinancial.
