TruWest believes it’s important to “shop” for a real estate agent to determine the best fit. We want you to be confident knowing that your agent has the experience needed to get you a fantastic deal on a great home, understands your goals and works in a timely manner to close efficiently.

Benefits of Working with an Agent

Selecting the right real estate agent can make the home buying experience a more pleasant and productive one. Plus, you'll have a committed agent to help you shop within your set criteria, give you access to more listings and even counsel you through purchasing a home in special areas such as a planned community where your lifestyle is catered to by the amenities offered.

What’s MLS?

The MLS is the Multiple Listing Service, which allows you to peruse current homes for sale in the market and, best of all, your agent can set parameters for you to only see homes that match the area, price range and specifications you want. After saving homes you like to the MLS system, your real estate agent will be able to schedule your in-person showings.

What to Expect from All Parties

Brokers, the listing agent and your real estate agent must treat all parties honestly and fairly, so you can be sure that all material facts about the property will be disclosed, offers will presented to the owner and discrimination is not an issue. In addition, your real estate agent should offer the following to help you during the home buying process:

  • Details for the current properties for sale
  • Access to properties you’d like to view and consider
  • Assistance creating the purchase agreement
  • Comparables for homes in the area to determine the overall value
  • Information on schools, zoning changes, flight zones and more

Agent Agreement

Once you’ve decided to select a real estate agent, it is important to define the relationship through a written agreement. This not only outlines how your agent will be compensated but protects you as you search for your ideal home.
